Prevent. Protect. Respond. Recover.

Individual Assistance

Individual Assistance programs provide support to individuals and households impacted by disasters. This support may come from several entities, including government and/or non-profit, volunteer and faith-based organizations. Many of these programs are only available in a federally declared Individual Assistance Disaster.

The loss of real and essential personal property or economic loss due to an emergency disaster may trigger the need for a variety of programs to be activated. These disaster assistance programs are not designed to return things to pre-disaster condition, but they can help to begin the recovery process. The first step is to ensure that personal and real property are protected with the appropriate insurance policy.
