One of the five sections of NIMS is resource management. NIMS compliance objectives # 20 and 22 address the need to type and inventory resources according the national definitions as defined by FEMA.

Idaho is participating in the nationwide Resource Typing initiative to type and inventory all Tier 1 (nationally defined) resources. The Tier 1 typing and inventory has been completed statewide. Phase 2 of the Resource Typing Project has begun to develop Tier 2 (state specific) typing of resources and will complete a statewide inventory by the end of the summer 2010.
